Welcome to Orchard Buds

Where little buds begin to bloom.

Orchard Buds is a locally owned, fee charging early learning centre that offers quality childcare in a safe and stimulating learning environment for tamariki aged 0 - 6 years old. We are licenced for 75 tamariki with a maximum of 20 under two-year olds.

We provide a calm, nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued and confident to explore. Our approach blends child-led play with intentional teaching, supporting children to grow in independence, social confidence and early school readiness. We offer thoughtfully designed spaces for under twos and over twos, ensuring each child receives care and learning experiences suited to their stage of development and individual needs.

The outdoor environment supports children’s learning and wellbeing by providing rich learning experiences through exploration, play, risk-taking, and connection with the natural world. Through outdoor experiences, children develop independence and social skills.

We believe in learning through play and offer all learning experiences through meaningful opportunities. Our highly skilled kaiako get to know your child deeply and explore their learning interests. We encourage full participation of children, staff, parents and whānau to deepen the connections and links we have with the wider community.

We take a learner-centred approach to implementing Te Whāriki, and this is reflected in our planning and evaluation for your child.

Our goal is simple, to give every child
strong foundations for school and life beyond.

Our Curriculum

Rooted in care, play & discovery.

Through warm relationships, play-based learning and a strong connection to nature, we create an environment where children feel safe to explore, ask questions, build friendships, and discover the joy of learning.

Guided by the principles of Te Whāriki, we support the development of
confident, capable learners who feel a strong sense of belonging.

We encourage and appreciate the awareness of the
multi-cultural heritages within New Zealand.

These multi-cultural values are interwoven and visible in our curriculum and environment.
